How To Be Considered For Exhibit Opportunities
The Tevis Gallery
This 1,200 sq. foot space is our primary gallery and is reserved for professional-quality group shows based around a central theme, medium or artistic genre. Typically show themes are selected approximately a year in advance by the gallery committee in response to community interest. The Visual Arts Coordinator along with members of our gallery committee work throughout the year to identify appropriate artists to be invited to participate in each particular show. Some are discovered through gallery visits, some through internet searches and some are chosen as a result of the artist submitting representative images for consideration. In addition, our annual Members Exhibit is considered essential “scouting territory” to help us identify artists whose work is of the caliber we are striving to present. Exhibitions run approximately 7 weeks.
The Community Gallery
This space is well lit and has visitor foot traffic equal to that of the Tevis Gallery. Typically this space houses shows by groups such as schools, senior citizen organizations, art clubs, and our annual Youth Art Month exhibit. We welcome group exhibition proposals for this gallery from community groups, service organizations, and local art clubs. Please follow the same guidelines for individual artists to apply for exhibition consideration for your group.
Annual Members Exhibit
Every year we host a Members exhibit where any current dues-paying member can display a work of art. There is no jurying involved to enter, and artists do not need to submit images in advance. However, judging takes place once the works are installed and artistic excellence prizes are awarded to those with the highest scores. This is traditionally a well attended show and a dynamic display of a wide range of styles and experience levels. As previously mentioned, some artists are invited to show in future gallery exhibits based on the piece they enter in this important show. Registration applications are available in June. The show is typically held in August/September.

Art in the Park
The first Saturday in June is our annual outdoor festival of the visual and performing arts. This is a rain or shine event. Artists are invited to register for this opportunity to display their art for a large and attentive crowd. Artists must be able to supply and setup their own booths. Registration applications are available in March. Again, some artists are chosen for gallery exhibits as a result of participating in Art in the Park.

Art Mart
We are continually looking for fine craft artists to display their work in our Art Mart retail space in our lobby. Jewelry, weaving, basketry, carvings, prints, etc. are welcome. JPG format image files representative of the work should be submitted to the Visual Arts Coordinator for consideration. No mass-produced or kit-based items will be accepted. Accepted works are offered for sale for a period of 6-8 weeks.
General Information
A 25% commission is collected by CCAC for art sales in our galleries or Art mart. Shipping and/or delivery charges are the responsibility of the artist. All artists displaying work in the Carroll Arts Center galleries or Art Mart agree to do so at their own risk. It is strongly encouraged that artists maintain homeowners or renters insurance on their works displayed at the CCAC.
How to Apply
Those interested in having their work considered for the Tevis Gallery, Community Gallery, or Art Mart should submit up to 10 professional quality images for review. Digital images in JPG or TIFF format are preferred, and may be emailed or mailed on a CD. Photos or prints may also be mailed directly along with a resume or artist statement. Each image should be clearly labeled as to title, size, medium and name. Please do not submit, or bring in original art work for consideration. Images may be held for up to 3 months. Include a SASE if you want samples to be returned. All submissions are given thorough consideration and review. Being a regular visitor to our gallery is the best way for you to understand our gallery philosophy, so we hope to see you often.
