Children’s Theatre Troupe

The Arts Council in partnership with the Maryland Ensemble Theatre’s “Fun Company” mount fully staged musicals featuring young people from the area. While the audition process is run in a very professional, authentic manner, our goal is to cast as many children as possible. Families pay a modest tuition to be part of the cast which includes a script, cast t-shirt, music CD, most costume pieces, 2 complimentary tickets and the cast party. Typically our fall show is for middle-school aged actors, and our spring production is for elementary aged actors. Visit our Coming Attractions section to see if there is a show coming up.

"Stage Door"

A performance opportunity for actors aged 13-18
at the Carroll Arts Center in Westminster MD

Stage Door is set in the New York City boarding house of Mrs. Orcutt in 1936, where the hopes and ambitions of sixteen wanna-be actresses who have come to pursue careers are hilariously revealed. Cast is 19 females and 11 males.

Auditions will take place April 21st and 22nd, call to schedule a time. Actors should prepare a monologue, no longer than 2 minutes, but there will also be cold readings from the script. Call backs may be scheduled if needed.
Performances will be July 20th and 21st. Tuition for this experience will be $130 for Members of the Arts Center and $145 for non-members.
