Scout Badges

One of our art educators can assist your Boy or Girl Scout Troop with all or part of art or theatre badge requirements. There are several selections to choose from to meet those requirements. Each activity includes all art materials and instruction for the project. There is a minimum of 10 paid scouts for each activity, maximum 25. All adult leaders and chaperones are free.

The following options are available:

Film Screening & Art Activity
Approximately 1 ½ hours
$10 per Scout
Scouts will view an art related film from our library then create a project that directly ties into the film and works with the badge requirement.

Gallery Tour & Art Activity
Approximately 1 ½ hours
$10 per Scout
Scouts will be given a 20 minute gallery tour which features rotating exhibits in a broad array of styles and mediums. Scouts will then complete a craft project that relates to works in the exhibit while filling all or part of the badge requirement.

Gallery Tour, Film Screening & Art activity
Approximately 2 hours
$10 per Scout
Combine all three activities for a total art experience. After a tour of the gallery, scouts will view a film of an artist at work then complete an art project in keeping with the badge requirement.

Theatre Design & Technology
Approximately 2 hours
$10 per Scout
Scouts will view a film describing theatre design then will tour and use theatre equipment such as light board, spotlights, sound desk and microphones, etc. Scouts will then design their own set and costume.

Acting Adventures
Approximately 1 ½ hours
$10 per Scout
Scout will tour our theatre and backstage, learn theatrical terminology, and play a variety of drama games.

Puppet Theatre
Approximately 2 hours
$10 per Scout
Scouts will learn about different types of puppets and puppets from around the world.  Then they will make their own puppet and perform a play for the group.

For groups of less than 10 add $2 per student.
Please contact Tabetha White to ask about our Webelo's Showman Program, to customize an activity for your group, or to schedule your activity.
